THE GENESIS

The Alumni of the Institute of Ceramic Technology (ICT) Vriddhachalam, Tamil Nadu are proposing to organize themselves as an association involving each and every alumnus of the ICT, Vriddhachalam. The enthusiasm and willingness of several individuals lead to take an organizational initiative which resulted in to forming a body in the form of a professional association.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE ICTAA

• To meet and share the experiences of the ICT Alumni in their professional and personal lives; to promote family relations among all members of the association and the ICT staff both existing & retired. To appreciate the contributions of the ICT graduates in promoting the science, technology and art of Ceramics manufacturing, world over.
• Alumni association to work as a common platform to reach out national and international ICT alumni to interact with institute, industry and R& D.
• To act as a bridge between college and the industries for interaction on new developments in the discipline Ceramic engineering. To extend the help to the students of ICT for placement and industrial training.
• To assist the start-ups to promote ceramic enterprises.
• To encourage meritorious students of ICT by way of awarding prizes to meritorious students showing bright performance, each year. To recognize academic, professional and other achievements of the alumni and to institute suitable awards for them
• To organize programmes, technical meets seminars and get together etc. to interact and sustain a sense of belonging through mutually beneficial contacts. To foster linkages amongst the alumni and promote personal and friendly relations through meetings and get-togethers, tours / trips etc. so as to create a sense of brotherhood, co-operation, mutual harmony, and affection amongst the members of the Association
• To facilitate and encourage alumni to contribute towards improvement of infrastructure for all round development of the students of the ICT. To extend every possible help to the ICT authorities for overall progress of the institution. To provide avenues for drawing upon the knowledge and expertise of the alumni for furthering the cause of the ICT as an Institution of excellence
• To work for promotion and dissemination of useful knowledge among its members- to have brainstorming sessions on the technology of Ceramics that traversed over the years and each ones contribution thereto; to organize seminars/ symposiums, meetings, press conferences and other lawful gatherings, from time to time. To collect, publish and distribute such information in the form of a ‘Newsletter’ as may be useful to members of the Association
• To generate a ‘Brain Bank’ of the professionals from amongst its members and provide services for the benefit of the Alumni and the society in general.
• To undertake all such activities as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above aims and objectives and any other objectives in the interest of society as decided from time to time.
